Hundred Kingdoms by Lukas

“Across the heartlands of Eä stretch the vast domains of the Hundred Kingdoms, a realm of fertile plains, towering castles and ancient banners. Proud, fractured and ever-ambitious are but a few words spoken of the Kingdoms and the nobles who claim dominion over them. The Men of the Hundred Kingdoms, heirs to forgotten empires and broken crowns, are as relentless as their ceaseless wars, as steadfast as their stone keeps and as proud as the bloodlines they defend. Though divided by rivalry and ancient grievance, the knights and lords of the Kingdoms march beneath countless heraldic standards, bringing steel, fire and faith to any who would challenge their rule.”

Welcome to some impressions about my chosen first army: The Hundred Kingdoms!

In a world filled with monsters, eldritch horrors and towering brutes, there was something deeply compelling to me about standing with simple humanity – disciplined ranks of soldiers, steel in hand, facing down the terrors of Eä through courage and determination alone. While many factions boast beasts and abominations, the Hundred Kingdoms made me want to be the man in the line, shield raised, striking down monsters and enemies alike through discipline and grit.

What drew me in most was the infantry: proud regiments of men-at-arms, resolute household knights and disciplined soldiers clad in clean, unified armor. Their ordered aesthetic and martial discipline immediately stood out among the chaos of the setting and made them the perfect force for me.

My focus with this army has been on creating a coherent and unified battlefield presence rather than chasing painting perfection. With this being my first Conquest: TLAOK army, I wanted something that would look striking and cohesive on the table above all else. For the scheme, I chose a dark green tone as the solid foundation of the force – clean, disciplined and noble – paired with metallics and restrained accents to emphasize the professional and unified appearance of the Kingdoms’ soldiery.

Crusading Noble Lord

Meet Luitpold von Stein, one of the first crusading Lords who managed to set foothold in the north! This model should show you the general idea of how to color my army and design their bases!

Militia Bowmen & Crossbows

“The smallest are not the weakest! They perform their duty by aiding our troops from the rear. Arrows may splinter, but crossbow bolts will penetrate even the strongest armor!”

Errant of the Order of the Shield & Steel Legion

Sir Albrecht von Falkenhayn, Errant of the Order of the Shield, rides forth as a steadfast guardian of the realm – unyielding in defense, unwavering in faith, and ever the first to meet the enemy’s charge. At his side marches the Steel Legion, disciplined veterans whose mighty zweihanders carve bloody paths through any foe beneath his banner.

Theist Priest

Father Matthäus of the Sacred Toll walks to war beneath the weight of holy bronze, his great bell reliquary pealing across the battlefield. With every thunderous chime, the faithful steel their hearts and the wicked tremble before the judgment of the divine.
