Game 3 against the legendary BrillyOneEye with Weaver Courts in Melee!
Last Game of the tournament and I couldn’t be happier! First of all, Brilly is an absolute blast to play with and a delightful person, but also it’s the Weaver mirror-match! Finally we can find out if Winter or Spring will prevail!

Round 1
I start in summer, he does start in winter.
I get all my lights (again!) and he only gets one unit of Kern and one unit of Whisps. We move up a bit and I Propagate – a quick turn 1.

Round 2
He gets Kern with Warlord, Whisps, Crann and the Scatacha Hunters with Character. I only got in my Crann which I nominated and failed every single reinforcement roll for the rest of my mediums. Happens and it was fine to be honest.
My Crann move onto the Zone, same for his Treepeople. The Hunters appear on the far right flank, backed up by Kern and Whisps.
We start shooting at each other, and do some damage to our screening units. But I can heal them back up and he can’t, so he knows that he is under pressure and not me.

Round 3
I get all but one unit of moths in, he does get the last Kern, one unit of Crann, Moths and one unit of Gemreds.
We start shooting at each other’s Whisps and Propagating a lot. I manage to kill a whole base on the right flank thanks to the power of the Rhun Sidhe. On this flank I also bring some Sciathan Riders and the Morrowen, which I want to use against the much inferior Scathacha Hunters. Poor autumn people and their short little blades.
He uses his first Crann unit to march charge my Whisps, doing little damage with Impacts and reinforcing his second Crann onto the Objective to keep scoring it.
On the left flank though, he made a crucial mistake. My Kern do some damage to his Whisps, killing the first stand. He then decides to use his Whisps and March Charge into my own Whisps, to hold back my unit and pushing back my reinforcement line. So my Whisps start smashing his Whisps and we make funky Whisp-noices while rolling some dice.
Later this turn, I activate the Crann and see an opportunity. I can March Charge his Kern Skirmishers with the second Wizard attached. I need a 4 with Unstoppable and make it! The Impacts manage to reduce the Kern to one stand with 1 wound remaining. Brilly cleverly puts his Gemreds behind his Kern, but in Charge Range to the Crann.
I place Sciathan onto my far left flank to counter his moths and place some Ciannir riders into the center to hold the objective.

Round 4
It’s Spring for me and Autumn for him!
He gets his last unit of Gemred, I get my last unit of moths.
So he wins supremacy and goes first with the Gemred on the left, charging my Crann. Gemred are cool and all, but they do not have enough damage to oneshot the Crann, especially when only 2 stands get into contact. I think he kills like one and a half stands of Crann. They activate next, heal some wounds back and smack the last remaining Kern to death. Also my Character starts putting damage into the Gemreds.
I durdle around on the left flank, his Sciathan Riders reform and face towards the middle, I do the same while standing on the zone.
In the center, his Crann kill the Whisps and charge into my Kern, doing some damage, which I will heal back. My Kern fight back and do some damage to the Crann. Then my first unit of Ciannir moves into his flank and starts blasting, killing two (already wounded) Crann. I bring in my second unit of moths behind the Kern and shoot the last Crann, but do little damage since I cannot shoot in his flank with all of them.
On the right, he moves up his Whisps to block the Morrowen off the objective zone for one more turn. The Morrowen take the opportunity and snack the remaining Whisps.
He brings in the second Gemred Knights to hold the flank. I go for a bombing run onto the Scatacha Hunters, doing some wounds, but not enough to break them. (I think they lost 1 or 2 wounds due to broken ground and the bombing run did 5 or 6 wounds). They reform and charge my moths in return.

Round 5
His Scatacha Hunters go first, killing my moths. I activate my Crann and kill the already wounded Gemred thanks to a million attacks and Terryfing from the Mhor Sidhe.
At this point, the game is over and Brilly concedes.

The end result was 105 to 20 for me! What a great game!
It was an absolute blast to play with Tim and a very good way to end the tournament.
In the end it was enough to get first place, thanks to a good strength of schedule.
Big thanks to all of my opponents and to the TO – you people deliver such high quality tournaments, it is always a blast! Your welcoming atmosphere elevates every event and is worth every hour of travel!
