Forethoughts of the Kaisers for Surpremacy over Eä

Finally it was time for the Kaisers to show what we got! A two hour drive away, we went to the “Supremacy over Eä” tournament, organized by the very lovely people of AmuletD20. It is widely known that the Slovenians are a great bunch of people and coming to their tournaments is a must for us!

We prepared a bit in advance and tested some lists. Daniel was playing around with the Jarl, who might just be a better Warlord than the Konungyr. (I can already hear the collective exhalation of all the Internet-Warriors out there, because “it’s a known fact” that Konungyr is the BEST Warlord without any doubt! <3)

Alex was testing his Dino-less Wadhrun to great success, but sadly had to do a lot of real life stuff, so maybe not enough playtesting was done on his part.

I played the hell out of the new Weaver Courts and decided to go for a spring themed army without any Gemred Knights.

We already discussed matchups and lists while we were driving to the south. The hype was real and the general feel and experience of going to a tournament together is always exciting. It’s a lot of nerding around and talking about our beloved hobby, as well as other stuff.

We arrived one day early to hang out in Medvode (the location of the tournament), drink some beer, eat tasty but not healthy food and just having a great time.

The tournament itself was just a one day tournament. With 24 participants, we already knew that it would be very likely to have three undefeated players at the end. So it would come down to the tie-breaker, which is Strength of Schedule. Since you cannot influence your SoS by any means, it will be completely uncertain if you win the whole thing or not, even if you get three wins in. But who cares, as long as we have a good time and great games, it is worth the trip!

If you never have been to a tournament organized by the Slovenians, you should definitely redo your bucket list! Not only is the community very warm hearted and welcoming, but they also thrive at organizing tournaments. There is no delay whatsoever, communication is clear and friendly, tables are great and the price support is also really generous! Whenever you have a question or need something, there will be a person who gladly jumps in and will help you. So you can imagine that we had an amazing time at the tournament thanks to Andrej (Ulverbite) and his lovely fellows!

Small advertisement at this point: They are hosting a really big tournament again! We attended the last one and it was immaculate and we will for sure be there, as well as many other great people and players!
